Myopia

Myopia

Myopia is an eye disease where a person finds difficulty in seeing objects at a distance. It is also known as short sightedness. This occurs due to change in the curvature of the eye or due to any refractive problem of the eye.

Normally, the parallel rays of light coming into the eyes are supposed to converge at a particular point on the retina. However in myopia they start converging much ahead of retina, as a result of which the person has blurred vision of distant objects but clear vision of near objects. This may be due to the change in the curvature of the refracting surface of the eye or due to abnormal refractivity of the media of the eye lens and cornea.

AYURVEDIC VIEW AND TREATMENT ACCORDING TO CHANDIGARH AYURVED CENTRE

In Ayurveda, this is compared with the Drishti dosha. Defective vision indicates derangement of the doshas in the body. Vitiation of the Alochak Pitta is responsible for causing vision problems. Due to the above mentioned causes, Alochak Pitta and other dhatus or tissues in the eyes do not get proper nutrition and hence fail to perform the functions properly. Intake of improper food and poor digestion leads to the production of the toxins which then blocks the channels and cause malnourishment of the optic tissues.

Ayurvedic line of treatment focuses on:-
