In this fast moving world human beings are craving for piece. And people are well aware about the lifestyle disorders or occupational hazards. To overcome that stress and physical exertion, yoga became part and parcel of our life. Baba Ramdev brought a huge revolution in all over India. Now people added yoga and exercises in their daily routine. Yoga became popular as a system of physical workout in western world too. Origin of yoga is before vedic period. Aacharya Patanjali is the propounder of Yoga. Patanjali yoga sutra is consists of 195 sutras .
The word Yoga is derived from the Sanskrit root word - yujjir – which means “to unite” or “to combine”.i.e separating ownself from the external environment and uniting individual soul with the divine. Yoga is a union between Jeevatma and Parmatma.
Yoga is a way which helps to make the individual – physically, mentally and spiritually healthy. Mainly reduces degenerative changes and helps to rejuvenate the body and mind, with the help of its eight branches they are – yama, niyama, asana, pranayama, pratyahara, dharana, dhyana , Samadhi.

Goal

Ultimate goal of yoga is attaining moksha by withdrawing the sense organs from the external environment, and uniting inner soul with the divine thus attain moksha.
