CAUSES OF MENOPAUSE
Well, there’s no medical reason for early menopause. Genetics is mainly the cause of the same. You should ask your mom when she got menopause; most of the times, it depends on that. You will get clues about the same. If your mom got it early, there are chances that even you will get it.
Smoking is considered to have an anti-estrogen effect and many a times, it leads to early menopause. Several studies have shown that women who smoke a lot can experience early menopause. In reality, the menopause starts 1-2 years earlier as compared to non-smokers. BMI is considered to be a factor too; estrogen is store in fat tissue. Women having lesser estrogen stores and the ones who are thin can experience menopause earlier. Research also suggests that lack of exercise, veg diet, lack of exposure to sun and other things might cause menopause.
Early menopause can be caused due to chromosomal defects. For instance, in Turner Syndrome, women are born with incomplete chromosome. They have ovaries, with improper functioning.
