Tumor is solid mass of tissue formed by group of abnormal cells in the body. The tumor mass is not necessarily cancerous it can be non–cancerous (benign) . It can be form in any part of the body and may affect skin, bones, glands , tissues and organs. The factors increasing the chances of tumor are gene mutation, family history of tumor, viruses like HIV, inherited conditions like neurofibromatosis etc. The main symptoms individual may experience are fatigue, unexplained weight loss, fever ,chills , pain, night sweats etc. Benign tumor may converted in malignant tumors and spread to other body parts leading to life-threatening condition if not treated properly.
In Ayurved it can be correlated with Arbuda . It is said to be caused by Vata-kapha vitiation as vata when vitiated is responsible faulty division of body cells and vitiated kapha cause there abnormal growth. Benign tumors have dominance of Kapha dosha. While in malignant tumor pitta dosha is predominant which leads to aggressive spread of the tumor in surrounding tissues.
