OVERVIEW

Pancreas is a disease which is characterized by the inflammation of pancreas. Pancreas is a large, leaf-like gland which is present behind the stomach in upper abdomen. It is a composite gland which means it acts as both exocrine as well as endocrine glands. It secretes digestive juices and hormones which help in digestion of food and maintainance of glucose level in blood. It can occur either suddenly or takes many years.

The severity of pancreatitis varies among individuals. Mild pancreatitis can be treated with medications but in severe cases, it can be fatal.

TYPES OF PANCREATITIS

Pancreatitis is of two types:

Acute pancreatitis: It is the sudden inflammation of pancreas. It lasts for a short time period.
Chronic pancreatitis: It occurs for a long time period and mostly occurs after acute pancreatitis.

CAUSES OF PANCREATITIS

Pancreas produces digestive enzymes which are responsible for digestion of food. The enzymes get activated when released into the intestine. But due to some abnormality, when these enzymes get activated inside the pancreas, this causes irritation of the cells of pancreas leading to inflammation. Repeated episodes of acute pancreatitis permanently damage the pancreatic cells. This forms scar tissue inside the pancreas leading to chronic pancreatitis. The pancreas then loosens its function.

OVERVIEW

Anemia is a health condition in which the number of red blood cells in body decreases, thereby causing lack of enough oxygen to the body tissues. It is one of the most common blood disorder. It is a low hemoglobin condition leading to symptoms like shortness of breath, weakness and fatigue. Anemia can be short-term or long-term. The symptoms can range from mild to severe. Anemia can occur because of the various reasons.

The treatment involves various procedures ranging from taking supplements to healthy diet and lifestyle.

CAUSES OF ANEMIA

Blood is composed of different types of blood cells – red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. HDL removes excess cholesterol from the blood and transports it to the liver, where it is broken down and passed out of the body. At the same time, a certain amount of cholesterol is needed for the body to function, but excessive amount of cholesterol in the bloodstream increases the risk of heart diseases. People who have naturally high levels of HDL cholesterol have a lower risk of having a heart attack or stroke. Low HDL levels often occur in a group of diseases, including metabolic syndrome, obesity, high blood pressure, and diabetes. OVERVIEW

Dengue is a disease which is caused by the bite of a female mosquito of the group Aedes aegypti. The disease is mostly prevalent in tropical and subtropical areas of the world. When an infected female mosquito bites, it transmits the dengue virus in the blood of the person. There are four subtypes of the dengue virus. It is not a contagious disease. The symptoms are usually flu-like but the severe form is life-threatening. The severe form is known as dengue hemorrhagic fever.
The treatment of dengue usually involves prevention. But when infected, increased amounts of fluid are given.

SYMPTOMS OF DENGUE

The symptoms of dengue appear after 4 to 6 days of infection. They last for near about 10 days. When symptoms are mild, they are flu-like and can be mistaken by having a viral infection. The common signs and symptoms of dengue are:
Sudden onset of high fever
Headache
Severe muscle and joint pain
Extreme body weakness
Nausea
Feeling of fullness
Vomiting
Pain behind the eyes

According to Ayurveda, our body is made up of five elements which are water, earth, sky, fire and air. These five elements are also known as Panch Mahabhoot and this Panch Mahabhoot is the source of subtle energy of our body. In religious point of view also these Panch Mahabhutas have great importance, because our universe has originated from the combination of these things and our body has originated from these combinations. These five elements live in harmony with each other in our body and keep the body healthy. Doshas are born from the combination of these five Mahabhutas. A dosha is born out of a combination of two great elements, which are mentioned below:-

Vata Dosha – Air and Sky
Pitta Dosha – Fire and Water
Kapha Dosha – Earth and Water
Vata, Pitta and Kapha all three are present in our body in balanced quantity, but if any element increases or decreases in these three, then we may have to face many physical problems due to it. These are called doshas because of the problems arising due to disturbances in the balance of these three. Since these doshas are three in number, they are collectively called Tridosha. Ayurveda clearly believes that if the balance of any one of these three doshas is disturbed, then many physical problems are bound to arise which can range from moderate to severe and severe to very severe. WHAT IS VATA DOSHA?
Vata dosha is considered to be the most prominent dosha. This dosha is formed by the combination of “air and sky” elements. All those activities that happen inside our body in which there is movement or movement are due to Vata. In simple words, the element which generates movement or enthusiasm in the body is called ‘Vata’ or ‘Vayu’. Vata helps in the movement of the body, such as circulation of blood. Pitta dosha is nothing but heat energy in the body which is invisible. Bile is always present in our metabolism. When our food is broken down in the stomach and intestine, when enzymes are made or hormones from the endocrine glands are released into the bloodstream where bile is always involved. It controls the hormones and enzymes produced in our body. It also means that everyone has pitta bio-energy, which is primarily made up of the element fire. Pitta dosha is also formed by the combination of two elements, it includes “fire and water” elements. The heat of the body, such as body temperature, digestive fire, are controlled by pitta. OVERVIEW

Cervical spondylosis is an age-related disorder which is caused by the natural wearing down of cartilage, ligaments, disks and bones of the neck. It is a very common disorder which worsens with age. The disks get shrink and dehydrate alongwith bony projections along the edges of bones. Stiffness and pain in neck are the main symptoms of cervical spondylosis. People above the age of 60 years are most commonly affected. It is also called osteoarthritis of neck.

In most of the cases, there are no symptoms of cervical spondylosis. However, with physical therapy, medications and soft-collar, the treatment can be done. In extreme cases, injections or surgery is done.

CAUSES OF CERVICAL SPONDYLOSIS

Today we are talking about the accumulation of phlegm in the chest of children. This condition is also called chest congestion. When this condition occurs, mucus builds up in the lower part of the lungs and windpipe. This problem is mainly seen in winter. Due to this problem, children may not only feel difficulty in breathing but they may also have to face cold, cold etc. In such a situation, it is important to know its symptoms and causes.

CAUSES OF PHLEGM IN CHILDREN
There can be many reasons behind the accumulation of phlegm in children. These reasons are as follows-

When young children get a cold, the problem of phlegm in the chest may arise as a symptom. In such a situation, to overcome this problem, it is necessary to get the cold done as soon as possible.

WHAT IS STRESS?
Stress is a disorder stemming from a state of mind. Tension arises due to imbalance and confusion between the state of mind and the situation. Stress is the gateway to many other disorders. Generally speaking, stress is a mental illness.

TYPES OF STRESS

Anticipatory Stress

When you start thinking too much about future activities, then you may have anticipatory stress. In this type of stress, you often feel the fear and danger of going wrong in the situation that will happen in the future. For example, you started worrying about failing in the upcoming exam.

Encounter Stress

When you start getting anxious about going in front of a certain person or a group and start avoiding going in front of them, then you may have encounter stress. For example, if you start feeling stressed just after going in front of your boss, then it will be considered as such stress. In this type of stress, you keep battling with the fear of forming an opinion about yourself by a certain person or group.

Time Stress

When you start feeling stressed about time, then understand that you are getting time stress. In this type of stress, a person keeps feeling short of time. He feels that he will not be able to complete any work on time. This type of stress often happens to office goers, children studying or people working on deadlines.

Situational Stress

Situational stress is when you are under stress due to some situation. This situation can come very often in life, but some people can also be stressed by such situations, which they have to face again and again. For example, children always start getting much stressed around exams or due to the loss of your job, there is a lot of stress.

WHY DOES STRESS HAPPEN?

Fear and protection are prominent among the main characteristics of a living being. Tension is the difference between fear and fear, that is, tension arises when we fail to strike a balance between every type of fear present in the world and its protection.
In such a terrified, insecure person is always ready to be safe, desperate and restless and this state of mind is stress and our complex life, social, political and administrative system fails to establish balance. The situation is called tension.
There are certain hormones in our body that increase stress such as adrenaline and cortisol. Under stress, the release of these hormones increases.
It is normal to have stress or tension nowadays, it is felt when it becomes difficult for us to deal with a situation.
When there is tension, the release of adrenaline increases in our body, in such a situation the heartbeat and mental and physical consciousness increases greatly.
If stress is prolonged, it can damage our immune system and heart. Apart from this, our physical and mental ability to deal with external diseases is also affected.

HOW TO HELP YOURSELF UNDER STRESS?

Exercise

Exercise for half an hour daily. Get up every morning and go for a walk. Due to this the human body remains healthy and he gets good sleep. This helps in reducing stress.

Healthy Diet

Take healthy diet. A person with stress should consume fresh fruits and green vegetables. Due to this there will be no shortage of vitamins, proteins, and iron in his body and there will be a reduction in stress.

Away from Alcohol

Stay away from alcohol because alcohol does not reduce stress but makes it more. A person with stress should stay away from alcohol.

Get plenty of sleep

Due to lack of sleep, a person gets stressed and he remains upset. If you are not able to sleep, then lie down with your eyes closed and do not let any thoughts enter your mind. This will help you fall asleep and you will feel relaxed.

Do Meditation and Yoga

The best way to overcome depression or stress is to do meditation and yoga. Include yoga and meditation in your daily routine.

Washing hands with warm water

A person with stress should wash his hands with warm water. When a person is stressed, he should wash his hands with lukewarm water. This reduces stress.

Listening to Music

If any person is stressed then he should listen to music. This can reduce his stress. He will get rest.

Give Feedback

The person who is feeling stressed should let go of his stress. For this he should give feedback. Don’t let the person get stressed and sit quietly. This situation can be dangerous so don’t be afraid to react. Tension can also be reduced by shouting at the person suffering from stress.

Seeing laughing pictures of a stressed person or making yourself laugh can reduce the stress inside him.

Drawing or Making Art
Drawing should be done to reduce stress. At the time of stress, there is an effect on the left side of the person, which affects his thinking power. So drawing whatever comes to mind on paper can reduce stress.
Take off the slippers

The stressed person should take off his shoes and walk barefoot on the ground. This reduces his stress.

Some food

Under stress makes a person want to eat sweets. A person with stress should consume sweet and some green vegetables or juicy fruits, which reduces his stress and it is also beneficial for his body.

OVERVIEW

Water is the most essential substance for the survival of living beings on earth. Human bodies are made up of 70% water. It helps in various metabolic processes such as digestion of food, removing toxins from the body, carrying nutrients and oxygen to different body parts. It contains different types of electrolytes and thus helps in maintaining osmotic balance. It exists in various forms in oceans, seas, rivers, glaciers, ponds and groundwater.

There are several types of drinking water which have come in markets. It is different on the basis of origin, consistency, composition and treatment.

DIFFERENT TYPES OF DRINKING WATER

The different types of drinking water are:

Tap water
Mineral water
Spring water
Sparkling water
Distilled water
Well water
Flavored water

TAP WATER

The water which comes directly from tap is called tap water. It comes in water through pipelines which is taken either from a dam or a river. It is used for performing household works such as cleaning, cooking, washing, gardening, etc. But tap water is not always suitable for drinking. It needs to maintain some municipality standards. Or one should use water purifiers at home for water purification.

MINERAL WATER

The water which is obtained from underground sources is rich in minerals such as magnesium, calcium and manganese, etc. this water is called mineral water. There cannot be addition of any other minerals but it is subjected to processes like iron removal or carbonation before packaging. But it contains some micro-organisms in it.

SPRING WATER

Spring water is the water which is obtained from natural springs which comes from underground source. Sometimes this rainwater collects underground and then comes on the surface as springs. This water is mostly free from contaminants as it is from the underground source. So it is safe for drinking. It has natural and refreshing taste.

SPARKLING WATER

It is also known as soda water or carbonated water. There is addition of some carbon dioxide in it under pressure, thus making it frizzy or sparkling.

DISTILLED WATER

It is the other name of demineralised water. In the process, minerals and salts are removed by distillation and reverse osmosis. Distilled water is the purest form of water but it is not advisable for drinking as there are no minerals in it.

WELL WATER

Well water is the main source of water supply in rural areas. It is not commonly seen in urban areas. During rain, water flows down the cracks in soil and gets accumulated underground. This becomes the underground water reservoir. But the water can be polluted with chemicals present in soil and bacteria. The water can contain some of the harmful chemicals like arsenic which causes metal poisoning. It depends on the locality of the well.

FLAVORED WATER

Flavored water is the water which is sweetened by adding either sugar or artificial sweeteners. So it tastes a little bit sweet. It is a tasty alternative to just plain water. There can be infusion of fruits or vegetables also. Due to presence of sugar, it is not good for diabetes and obese people.

WHAT IS BLACK WATER?

Black water is the water in which there is addition of fulvic acid, some vitamins or minerals. Magnesium, sodium, calcium, potassium, etc. are the minerals which are present in it. It is also known as fulvic water or natural alkaline mineral water. Its pH ranges from 8 to 9 and is thus less acidic than other bottled waters.

Fulvic acid has been used in Ayurvedic medicine from thousands of years. Shilajit is one of the most potent medicines in ayurveda and it contains 15-20% of fulvic acid.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF BLACK WATER?

Due to alkaline nature and presence of different minerals in it, it has various benefits as compared to other waters:
