Dermatitis is general term for itchy inflammation of the skin. There are different types of dermatitis which occur from different types of causes. When a person suffers from dermatitis, the skin becomes red, itchy and inflamed. At times, the affected area also feels warmer than the other areas of the skin that are unaffected by this infection. In severe conditions, the inflamed area can also become blistered and ooze out blood and pus. Luckily, dermatitis isn’t contagious, but it can definitely make the person sitting next to the patient feel extremely uncomfortable. This skin condition also occurs when people have certain allergies with chemicals or food items.
