ITP is known as Idiopathic thrombocytopenia purpura that decreases the platelet count in the bloodstream. Low platelet counts cause bleeding from gums, internal bleeding, blood in urine, heavy menstrual flow, nasal bleeding, & blood in the stool. In idiopathic thrombocytopenia purpura the immune system attacks their own cells mistakenly & destroy the platelets. It is mostly triggered by infection, H.pylori, viral illness, & hepatitis. For ITP patients people are usually suggested to take steroids for increasing it. But instead of all these, you can start with home remedies as they are natural & give good results to the patients. Here are few of the home remedies that are easily available:
1) Pomegranate
Pomegranate is a very good fruit for ITP patients. This fruit not only maintains the blood platelet count but also provides proper nutrients & minerals in the body. It serves as a natural energy booster that will help to increase platelet counts to its normal level.
How to use:
- Eat a bowl full of pomegranate fruit daily.
- You can also prepare fresh juice of pomegranate at home & drink this once daily.
2) Papaya leaves
Papaya leaves contain compounds like flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, carpaine, anthraquinone, carposide, & tannins. It is rich in antioxidant that is free radical scavenging activities.
